SBCC Dance Presents Collective Collaborative 2019 at The New Vic theater, November 8 and 9 at 7pm.

On Saturday, November 9, at 7:30, and Sunday, November 10, at 3:00, the Master Chorale will present Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) by Johannes Brahms.

Steven Gross (Professor of Horn, UC Santa Barbara) will celebrate 25 years at UC Santa Barbara with a special recital featuring American Double members violinist Philip Ficsor and pianist Constantine Finehouse on Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 pm at Hahn Hall at the Music Academy of the West. The program will feature the West Coast premiere of William Bolcom’s Trio for Horn, Violin, and Piano (2017), as well as Václav Nelhýbel’s Scherzo Concertante, an excerpt from Jiří Havlík’s Concerto for Horn, and Bolcom’s Second Sonata for Violin and Piano. Dr. Derek Katz (Associate Professor of Musicology, UC Santa Barbara) will give a pre-concert talk on Bolcom and his works.

The LaserPerformance Men’s and Women’s Singlehanded National Championships, co-hosted by Santa Barbara Yacht Club and the University of California Santa Barbara are set to begin Friday, November 8 with registration, boat assignment and a competitors meeting. Racing will take place Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10.
