MADE UCSB is the Media Arts and Technology Program’s (MAT) End of Year Show at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Showcasing graduate student work that connects media art, design and engineering, MADE UCSB represents the mission of MAT: to enable the creation of hybrid work that informs both scientific and aesthetic discourses.

The exhibition features over 50 installations, performances, concerts, and technical presentations by artists, scientists, and engineers from the MAT community and beyond. A diverse selection of work spans themes such as virtual reality, robotics, quantum physics, machine learning, electronic music and many other transdisciplinary subjects.

This week “Solutions News Radio” will welcome Katie Davis

The new weekly local radio show, “Solutions News Radio,” hosted by Rinaldo Brutoco, president and founder of the World Business Academy, will air live this Friday from 5-6 p.m. on KZSB 1290 AM radio. There will be replay broadcasts Friday from 11 p.m.– 12 a.m., Saturday from 5- 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 9 -10 a.m. The show is also available on demand as a podcast on Apple podcasts, SoundCloud or the Solutionsnews.org website.

UCSB Gospel Choir

Directed by Victor Bell, the UCSB Gospel Choir will present traditional and contemporary songs drawn from African American religious traditions on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 7:30 pm in UCSB's Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall.

Forbidden Desires

June 7 & 8, 2019 — A sultry and sexy production where dancers will captivate your attention through a variety of dance ensembles and nine stories of desire. Combining dance genres of burlesque, hip hop, jazz-funk, contemporary, and striptease, “Forbidden Desires”, performed by the Dance with Harout Performance Company, invites the audience into the mind of the Producer’s past, as it relates to desires he perceived as forbidden. Special guest performance by the LA Dance with Harout Performance Company on Saturday, June 8th.

Trombone Studio Recital: Solos and Ensembles

Under the direction of UCSB faculty member Bill Booth, the UCSB Trombone Studio will present a recital featuring solo and ensemble works for trombone on Friday, June 7th at 12 pm in Room 1145 in the Music Building.
