State Street Ballet Academy presents Madeline - Lost in Central Park on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Performed by all students ages 3-18 at State Street Ballet Academy, this is the story of a young girl visiting NYC with her friends. She gets lost but has many adventures in her journey to find her friends once again.
The Santa Barbara Music Club will present a program of beautiful classical music on Saturday, May 21 at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu at Garden Street. Directed by Scott Marcus, the UCSB Middle East Ensemble will present an evening of music and dance reflecting the great variety of cultures found in the Middle East on Saturday, May 21, 2021 at 7:30 pm in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall on the UC Santa Barbara campus. The ensemble performs music and dance from Arab, Turkish, Persian, Armenian, Greek, Jewish, and even Assyrian cultures, with everything from classical pieces to popular songs, as well as folk and cabaret-style dances.
The UCSB Gamelan Ensemble will present a concert showcasing gamelan, the celebrated gong orchestra of Indonesia, on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 5:30 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall on the UC Santa Barbara campus. Led by Richard North, the UCSB Gamelan Ensemble will showcase an ancient style of gamelan from Cirebon, West Java, featuring dynamic drumming, delicate melodies, and lively interlocking rhythms.
On Saturday, May 21, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, the public is invited to help Channelkeeper’s Watershed Brigade remove derelict lobster traps from Black Rock Beach below More Mesa.
