Continuing its 34-year tradition of calling attention to and supporting preservation of open spaces in the natural world, the Oak Group is proud to hold its fall 2020 show to benefit NatureTrack, whose mission is to instill young students with leadership skills, attitudes, and habits for lifelong learning, and to inspire them to be respectful stewards of our natural world.
Ages: 5 – 7
Move between painting and sculpting techniques as you reimagine the shapes, patterns, and textures of 2-dimensional landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes from the Museum’s collection in 3-D. Drawing, painting, collage, and unexpected materials such as wood, wire, and modeling compound are utilized in the creation of three unique works of art during this class.
Ages: 8 – 12

Nothing Bundt Cakes will be popping up at The Collection on select dates over the next couple of months and selling a variety of flavors of their bundlet-sized cupcakes. They will be setting up on Park View Court next to The Annex Food Hall on the following dates from 12-7 p.m.

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is delighted to announce that Arthur Beaumont: Art of the Sea--an exhibit of 53 paintings chronicling the accomplishments of the US Navy, from the USS Constitution to atomic bomb tests and expeditions to the North and South Poles—will be at the Museum for just six months, the last show on the West Coast before it leaves for the East Coast. Beaumont used Impressionist techniques in painting the stunning images in this exhibit and in capturing the majesty of the oceans and the vessels that sail them.
Speakers, Eugene Whitlock and Mel Vines, will share their experience of how interacting with others promoted their success and what an individual viewer can do to encourage and benefit African Americans within our personal networks and organizations.
The Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation will host Marie Christine Duggan, Ph.D of Keene State College discussing José Antonio de la Guerra y Noriega, who was the nephew of a powerful merchant in Mexico City.
