I am a retired attorney and agree that the need for a will is questionable in most cases. Generally it seems related to attempts to ‘get even’ with or otherwise manipulate heirs and others. I don’t have a will and am happy to let my estate transfer in the manner provided by the laws of the state of California. In any event I will not be around to complain and cavil about how it happens.
