The Santa Maria Police Department Police Teen Academy began today and is designed to give young people the opportunity to learn about the life as a Police Officer and about how the Santa Maria Police Department operates. 16 young men and women, through this 1-week course, will gain the knowledge and understanding of the functions and responsibilities of providing law enforcement services in the City of Santa Maria. The Teen Police Academy includes; basic introduction to law enforcement operations, a wide variety of classroom instruction, exciting hands-on training, a number of demonstrations and youth interacting with Santa Maria Police Officers.
The Santa Maria Police Teen Academy is offered once a year.
