Woman Injured in Cat Canyon Vehicle Rollover

By the edhat staff

A woman sustained major injuries after her SUV rolled several times off Highway 101 northbound near Cat Canyon.

At 4:27 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the area and discovered a single vehicle crash. An SUV appeared to veer about 100 yards off the roadway and roll several times.

The single occupant driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained major injuries. A CalStar helicopter was called but it was too foggy for it to land. The adult female patient was then transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center with firefighter paramedics on board.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and the roadway remains open.
