Wind Event Causes Multiple Incidents in North County

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is reporting a “wind event” in Santa Barbara’s North County on Wednesday.

Ahead of an impending rain storm, Captain Scott Safechuck reports a wind storm lasted about an hour starting around 12:20 p.m. causing an array of damage in the Orcutt and Santa Maria areas.

Safechuck referenced multiple power lines being down, several small spot fire, and in one incident a trampoline was flung into overhead power lines.

County Fire and Santa Maria Firefighters responded to the incidents.

No injuries have been reported.
