Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Lompoc man for domestic violence offenses after a brief standoff.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies learned that wanted suspect, 27-year-old Eric Alexander Elijah Silva, was inside a residence in the 3800-block of Via Isla.
Deputies were aware that Silva had an outstanding Ramey warrant for domestic violence, and they also learned that the suspect had a 6-month-old child in the residence with him. At one point, deputies observed the suspect holding the child when he peered out of a window at them.
Sheriff’s deputies, County Air Support and a Sheriff’s K9 unit contained the area and made announcements on a loudspeaker ordering the suspect to leave the residence and peacefully surrender to arrest.
At approximately 10:27 a.m., Silva attempted to flee out of the back door of the residence and was quickly apprehended by deputies.
Silva was arrested and booked at the Northern Branch Jail for domestic violence (felony), child cruelty (felony), preventing a victim from calling 911 (felony), false imprisonment (felony), and preventing or dissuading a witness (felony). He is being held on $100,000 bail.
The child was not physically harmed in this incident and did not require medical attention.
Any word on the sheriff deputy arrested this weekend for having illegal guns
Are we supposed to know what a “Ramey warrant” is? I’ve never heard that term before and have no idea what it means.
