On 3-9-18 at about 5:50PM, a Santa Maria Police Officer noticed a vehicle which was involved in a pursuit on 3-5-18 parked on the 900 block of west Fesler. The pursuit on 3-5-18 was terminated in the interest of public safety and the driver was identified as Earnest Lee Evans, 45 years old, of Santa Maria.
While the officer was investigating the vehicle, he noticed Evans walk out of a residence on the 900 block of west Fesler. The residence was quickly surrounded by officers. Numerous attempts were made to communicate with Evans for his surrender, but he did not comply. Two other occupants in the residence complied and exited the residence. Officers continued attempts to have Evans surrender but still did not gain compliance.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence for Evans. Evans was located hiding in the attic of the residence. Upon contact he continued to be non compliant and resisted arrest. Evans was taken into cu stody with the assistance of a police service dog.
Evans was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for two outstanding felony warrants, felony resisting a peace officer and felony recklessly evading.

So this felon endangered motorists, took hundreds of man-hours from SMPD on a stand-off and will cost taxpayers even more going through the Public Defenders Office, Court System and the end result will be 90 days (at the max) for this scum to be on the streets again…
You gotta love the California Justice System.
Umm, “Flicka” might want to understand that California has been under Democratic control for the last 25 yrs or so… It is worth also noting that the quality of life in the once “Golden State” has declined to the point where we are now…
Whereas places like Mississippi, Kansas, and Arkansas are paradises flush with cash.
