Narrative:
Investigators arrested (S) Guadalupe Molina-Pacheco after he set fire to a hillside in the unincorporated area of Ventura County, adjacent to the City of Santa Paula.
On August 19, 2020, at about 1:05 PM, the Ventura County Fire Department received a call of a brush fire near Forest Drive and Cliff Drive, across from the Santa Paula Creek. Fire department personnel arrived on scene and saw the fire moving up the hillside. The fire was contained to three acres with no property damage. Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, arson investigators from both the Ventura County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office responded to the location. Their investigation determined the fire was the result of arson.
Guadalupe Molina-Pacheco, a transient located near the property, was identified as a suspect in the crime. Molina-Pacheco was arrested and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on one felony count of arson and one misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
So this transient set a fire on the same day Gov. Newsom gives a press conference blaming all the wildfires in CA on lightening strikes. I wonder how many of those 367 wildfires Newsom was referring to will be ultimately be determined to have started in homeless camps?
Nearly 11,000 lightning strikes in 72 hours across CA. Yet you want to blame the fires that have demonstrably been shown to be naturally caused on the homeless demons? Sick.
The lightning started most of the current fires. The homeless camp-caused fires and occasional arsonist do need to be addressed, but our current conflagrations are from lightning. Facts are facts.
AHCHOOO: Agreed. I’m not disputing the facts that most of those fires were from lightning, but to ignore the arsonists and irresponsible “homeless demons” (RHS’ words) is ignoring a very serious problem. We all know, that in the past month, we’ve had several days in a row where fires were started along the 101 freeway due to the “homeless demons”. It’s such a problem the Edhat featured an article about CalTrans cleaning up 60 tons of material to try and prevent these man-made fires.
Book and Release-Thank You Gov Newscum
fire is a weapon of mass destruction, it seems reasonable to me that arson should be charged as a terrorist act. Glad they were able to contain the fire quickly and catch this creep.
Terrorism requires a specific intent. I highly doubt this guy was starting a fire to put fear into people based on a ideology. This is just plain criminal in nature. But, lock him up either way. Wonder if he spent any time in SB recently. Wasn’t there a string of suspicious fires a few weeks ago in Transient areas?
GIZMO – How does it feel to make a completely wrong comment without reading the article? Must be kind of silly, huh? Here you go: “Molina-Pacheco was arrested and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility” —- “booked,” not released……. Reading is a lost art it seems. Also, you can verify here — https://www.venturasheriff.org/inmate-information/
LCP – yet another what? Arsonist? Transient? What you getting at?
