Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian and Dog Causing Serious Injuries

A woman and her dog were struck by a vehicle in Buellton on Thursday evening causing critical injuries to the woman and fatal injuries to the dog.

At 8:20 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters, Calstar air ambulance, and AMR ground ambulance responded to the area of Sycamore Road and Highway 246. They discovered a woman was walking her dog across the street when they were struck by a vehicle.

The dog passed away and the woman was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with traumatic injuries.

Law enforcement is investigating this incident.
