Vehicle Hits Pedestrian in Santa Barbara Parking Lot

By Geo Duarte

A son reportedly hit his mother with Honda Fit in a downtown Santa Barbara parking lot. It is unclear if the male in his early 30’s struck his mother with a vehicle in Lot 9 with any intent or due to the influence of some mind altering substance. All is unknown at this time, no passing judgement.

On the evening of Sunday 7/23/23, close to vicinity of Anacapa and Canon Perdido St in S.B. A female possibly in her late 60s came to the kiosk at the parking lot of Lot 9 reporting her son had somehow struck her with a vehicle and drove off.

Police were on the look out for a male driving a Gray Honda Fit. Officers searched near a known residence, and did not see the described vehicle anywhere near the reported address on file.

The injured Mom seemed generally okay, yet may had a serious fall and bruising.  The details have not been released at this early point in the investigation.

Hope the family comes to some grip with solutions, and can eventually return to a level of normality and understanding. Keep the Peace, S.B.
