Vehicle Fire at 3731 State St on Sunday, 02/25/2024 around 6:50 PM..
Santa Barbara Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of Rusty’s Pizza on Upper State Street.
A small SUV parked right in front of the eatery was filled with smoke when witnesses alerted the owner who was inside the restaurant.
The owner uses wood to manufacture ash or potash to be used in the composting process to create fertilizer. It is likely one of the beams she had already partially burned and also soaked in water in plastic drums reignited in the hatchback area of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported. No other factors or details were available at the time of the incident.
