Two people were trapped in a vehicle that crashed 75 feet over San Marcos Road on Sunday evening.
At 7:14 p.m., Santa Barbara County and Los Padres Forest firefighters along with County Search & Rescue teams responded to the 2000 block of San Marcos Road just below the Trout Club.
Responders found a vehicle crashed over the roadway with two females trapped inside.
Using rope systems, crews were able to reach the adult females and bring them up to the roadway.
Both females were uninjured and refused treatment, being released on their own accord.
The vehicle was recovered using a heavy-tow truck.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
That spot is a turn in the road with a wide dirt pull out and is not steep. It’s hard to drive off a cliff there accidentally.
I’m sure they lost control and it was all downhill from there…
