Double car theft in Goleta around 1:30 PM Sunday. Cars were parked at the coastal access parking lot on the corner of Cannon Green and Phelps.
Suspects broke the backside window of one car and stole a purse with all of its contents. The same suspects took a purse from a neighboring car’s unlocked trunk.
Dash cam footage shows a black sedan (possibly Audi) pulling up to the second vehicle. It is presumed that at least two suspects were involved. They then took the stolen cards to Target where purchases were denied.
I think you make an excellent point. Increasing crime is a fact of life, and criminals are no longer kept in jail. Everyone should take responsibility for protecting themselves, their belongings, and their families. Times are changing and we can no longer depend on the sense of safety and security we used to enjoy in our community.
why don’t the police set up sting operations as this appears to be occurring quite frequently?
