UC Santa Barbara Student Dies in Dormitory

By the edhat staff

A UC Santa Barbara student died in an on-campus dormitory last week.

On October 27, the UCSB Residential & Community Living staff sent an email to residents of Manzanita Village informing them of the incident.

“Earlier today, you may have noticed emergency personnel in the building. We are sad to share that we have had a student death in the building,” the email stated.

For privacy reasons details were not released but foul play is not suspected, the University reported to the student newspaper, The Daily Nexus.

The campus Counseling & Psychological Services is available for students by appointment or by calling 805-893-4411. Faculty and staff can get assistance through the Academic & Staff Assistance Program.
