UC Santa Barbara Police Investigate Attempted Abduction Near Campus

University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Police responded to reports of an attempted abduction of a female near campus on Saturday evening.

The reported incident took place at the Labyrinth, located between Campus Point and Manzanita.  According to authorities, the suspect, described as an adult Hispanic male approximately 5’6″ tall with a stocky build, was dressed entirely in black, including black gloves. The individual was last seen at the Labyrinth.

The UCSB Police Department has set up a hotline for individuals to provide further information related to the incident. Those with any relevant details are urged to call 805-893-3446 and assist the ongoing investigation.

In response to the reported attempted abduction, police have deployed additional patrols across the campus and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff. The authorities have assured the public that they are actively working to investigate the incident and bring the suspect to justice.

In the wake of the alarming incident, UCSB Police are urging the public to exercise caution and avoid the area until further notice.
