The Santa Maria Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 900 Blk. of W. Morrison. One victim was dropped off at the hospital by a friend while the other jumped in the suspect’s vehicle and drove to the courthouse, which he thought was the police department. Both victims, male adults in their 20’s, sustained non-life threatening stab wounds.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and is still outstanding. SMPD Detectives are investigating to determine if gangs were involved and if there was more than one suspect.

The public is urged to call SMPD with any information regarding this incident. SMPD dispatch can be reached at (805) 928-3781 ext. 2277 or anonymously at ext. 2267 (COPS).
