Two People Injured in Head-On Highway 135 Collision

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a head-on traffic collision on Highway 135 Sunday evening.

At 9:03 p.m., crews arrived near the intersection of the highway and Union Valley Parkway in Santa Maria.

Two sedans with one occupant each had collided head-on. Both the adult male driver and adult female driver were able to self-extricate from the building. They were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in two ambulances. Their conditions are unknown.

The road was closed temporarily for cleanup. The cause is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
