Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives are searching for suspects involved in a fight that left two juveniles injured, one seriously, at a beach bonfire last month.

The incident took place on the evening of July 28 at a group bonfire on Haskell’s Beach in Goleta, near the Bacara resort.

Two juvenile victims were attacked by 10-20 people that evening, according to the Sheriff’s Office. One juvenile sustained serious injuries and was left unconscious with possible brain damage. They were transported to UCLA Children’s Hospital for treatment. The second juvenile sustained minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for suspects for potential attempted murder charges.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (805) 681-4150 or submit an anonymous tip at sbsheriff.org/home/anonymous-tip and (805) 681-4171.

    • Hmm,”…why don’t we hear about this…” well from experience, the investigation is not having all that much success. So now more than two weeks later they are hoping someone will break the silence. A group this big and that tight on the loyalty and silence will re-emerge with the  same type of behavior.
I hope there is no retaliation. Over the years there has always been payback—this, locally. Or the FBI has had to step in with organized groups. In 2008, 28 people were indicted by a Grand Jury for”organized crime.” not sure we are there yet with this group. Every 10 to 15 years the issue comes back. Kids watch Hollywood movies like “Blood in Blood Out” or “Goodfellas” and choose to try to live-the-life. LoL
The term for being beaten by a large group is called “getting jumped.” Not fun, dangerous group!!!

  1. The SB County Sheriff’s Dept needs to TERMINATE whoever is the current Public Information Officer…
As a community, it is vital that we are kept informed on significant incidents within the Sheriff’s area of operation. It falls on Brown to make sure there is COMMUNITY OUTREACH, yes, even the bad stuff…
