Two Injured in Head-On Collision Near Lompoc

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a head-on collision that injured two people on Highway 246 near Lompoc Monday morning.

At 6:32 a.m., crews responded to Highway 246 at Campbell Road and discovered two sedans involved in the collision, both drivers sustained injuries. 

One driver was trapped inside the vehicle and required heavy extrication to be removed. They sustained major injuries and were transported to Lompoc Hospital by a ground ambulance. The other driver also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.  

Two cats were also pulled from one vehicle. There is no update on their condition.

There are heavy traffic restrictions in the area and an investigation is underway.
