Turkey Coop Fire at Pork Palace

By the edhat staff

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to Pork Palace for a reported structure fire on Monday morning.

At 7:33 a.m., crews arrived in the 1400 block of Highway 1 in Buellton and discovered a turkey coop engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to knock down the 15 x 20 foot coop within twenty minutes of arrival and kept flames from affecting adjacent structures.

Multiple chickens were saved but it’s unclear how many turkeys succumbed to the fire and smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

  1. Lots of turkeys there, especially during the political season when they put up lots of signs for lots of “turkeys” running for office. Usually these turkeys spend lots of ‘pork’. Who owns that place/pork palace?
