Due to the rainstorm there are a number of traffic incidents happening throughout Santa Barbara and beyond.
Be careful out there! Here are a few of those incidents:
8:45 a.m. – Traffic Hazard on Highway 101 South at La Cumbre
Electric vehicle, black Chevy Volt, is reportedly in the center divider “dead in the water” and requiring a tow according to CHP. This is a County vehicle.
CHP is reporting that traffic is coming in too fast all around the vehicle. I’m assuming the tow driver is waiting for a CHP officer to clear space and announce when it’s safe to enter the area.
8:50 a.m. – Ortega Road onramp to Highway 101
White sedan flipped in the southbound lanes. Looks like this has been cleared, but traffic is still slow in the area.
9:40 a.m – Highway 101 south near Castillo Street
Single vehicle collision, crashed into the center divider. Vehicle is now in the number one lane with CHP reporting the male driver is out of the vehicle and staring at the damage.
Per Santa Barbara PD, the vehicle is in the center divider just north of Garden street. Tow truck enroute.
10:00 a.m. -Highway 101 South at Santa Claus Lane
Roadway flooding – be careful!
10:54 a.m. – Defective Traffic Lights at Storke Road / Highway 101 southbound onramp
Electricians onsite, hope to have this working within the hour.
11:13 a.m. – Traffic Collision at 5500 W. Camino Cielo
Single vehicle crash, white Ford Ranger. No injuries but road closure required.
11:25 a.m. – Dense Fog on SR-154/Summit
About 200 feet of visibility on the roadway due to dense fog.
11:37 a.m. – Vehicle Hits Pole on SR-135 Between Harris Grade Road and Los Alamos
Audi Q7 struck a power pole landed across the roadway with power lines down. Initial report of a female driver out of the vehicle, limping and calling for her dog.
Caltrans closed SR-135 southbound lanes at Hwy 1 and northbound SR-135 lanes at Bell.
Major front-end damage to the vehicle, minor injury to the driver. Unknown status of the dog. PG&E is on the scene but determined the power pole/wires belong to Frontier.
2:15 p.m. – Hit and Run on Hollister Ave in Noleta
Reporting party heard a collision from his house and discovered a vehicle had crashed, then took off.
No reported injuries. This was at Hollister and S. San Marcos Road.
