The City of Santa Barbara collected approximately $1.67 million in transient occupancy taxes (TOT) for May 2019, which is 4.5% above May of last year.
The City has collected approximately $17.6 million in TOT revenues through the first eleven months of this fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30. The City’s adopted TOT budget is $19,605,700.
Homeowners who want to participate in Air B&B are required to pay a tot? When was this tax voted on by the citizenry?
They absolutely SHOULD pay if they are renting out rooms for short term tourist rentals. Conversely, the city should reward those who rent to locals for long term.
