Train Collides with Vehicle Killing One Woman

At 3:05 pm Monday, Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded along with Guadalupe Fire Department to the 4500 block of West Main St. in Guadalupe where a vehicle was struck by an Amtrak passenger train.

The vehicle was on the tracks when it was struck by the train, causing it to spin off the tracks and tumble onto its side. The lone female driver inside was found to be dead by the first on scene AMR paramedic unit. Santa Barbara Sheriffs Department is conducting an investigation while crews are working on removing the wreckage from the side of the railway.
