Car vs Bike. Drivers need to change their mindset- look around, stop accelerating through intersections to make the light, be aware that a cyclist or pedestrian could be anywhere. Don’t use driving laws to justify you are not at fault. Until we all slow down, stopped being rushed or distracted and truly share the road, these collisions will continue. Wake up Santa Barbara- it’s time to shoot for Vision Zero.
6:49 – Was this a car v. bike accident? I don’t see that anywhere. Either way, it’s not only drivers that need to change their mindset. Cyclists share the blame for many accidents in town by blowing through stop signs and traffic lights assuming everyone knows they won’t be stopping. Riding in large groups next to each other and exceeding the width of the bike lanes is another issue. We ALL need to slow down. Don’t only blame the car drivers. I see cyclists riding like morons every single day.
