Three Local Radio Stations Off Air Due to Gibraltar Transmitter Issues

Three popular radio stations on the South Coast have been off air for over a week due to the loss of power at the Gibrlatar transmission site.
Two power poles were knocked down along Gibraltar Road cutting power to the site with backup generators failing to work.
KCLU, KJEE, and KCRW are all affected and haven’t been able to go live on the air since last Wednesday.
Repair technicians have been unable to reach the broadcast equipment for repairs due to parts of Gibraltar Road being washed out or filled with debris.

Steve Meade with KJEE (92.9) said today they are working on the problem and it should be resolved by the end of the day.
He also said Southern California Edison hopes to have the power poles repaired in the area by Thursday.
Other equipment at the Gibraltar site relating to local emergency operations are reportedly running smoothly with their backup power systems.’
KJEE is providing updates on their social media pages and KCLU is available on 1340am, at www.KCLU.org and the KCLU App.
KDB at 93.7 is a simulcast of KUSC in Los Angeles and it too is off the air.

I certainly miss KDB 93.7 FM (KUSC) the Classical Station. I hope the go back on the airwaves soon.
