On Wednesday, May 8, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara got a major facelift with the help of volunteers and local businesses. Sixteen painters arrived at 7AM in the morning for a full day of repainting the local youth center. Sherwin-Williams coordinated and fully supplied the project as part of their “National Painting Week.”
Sherwin-Williams contributes staff time, paint, and equipment every year to a selected nonprofit and plans community painting across the country during April and May. Brandt Schoenbeck and Jim Rhein from Sherwin-Williams worked to coordinate their staff, along with reaching out to four additional local painting companies: Austin’s Painting, Pacific Painting Company, Van Wyk Painting, and Perfection Painting, who sent their best professional painters to help in the project. The Sherwin-Williams at 617 Chapala St. and their manager Eddie Gose supplied all of the paint & painting materials.
“The Club could not be more grateful. Thank you to all of these wonderful volunteers who are spending the day giving this beloved Club the makeover it needs,” said the Boys & Girls Club of SB’s Executive Director Laurie Leis. “This project was a great collaborative effort, for the day but so much more needs to be done to this old building,” she said. A huge thank you to the individuals who donated their time & expertise to this project.
