By edhat staff

Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) scheduled a launch of an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile for this week.

The launch window is scheduled between 11:47 p.m. Tuesday and 5:47 a.m. Wednesday, depending on the weather.

The last unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile launch took place on October 29, 202 at 12:27 a.m.

All test launches validate and verify the effectiveness, readiness and accuracy of the weapon system as they are conducted to test the entire intercontinental ballistic missile system, according to a previous press release from VAFB.
