Temporary Beach Closure by Piers 421

The City is sharing this information on behalf of the State Lands Commission.

From Tuesday, August 28 at 7:00 a.m. through Thursday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. the California State Lands Commission and its contractors will be conducting well cellar cleaning operations associated with Platform Holly and Piers/Wells 421 below Sandpiper Golf Course in preparation of well plug and abandonment activities. The project will involve trucks, specialized equipment and related activities on road and the well piers. No activities will occur on the beach.

The beach area under the well pier causeway of the well being worked on will be temporarily closed daily to the public for safety reasons as this work is accomplished. Temporary signs will be posted on the beach notifying the public of the work activity.
