Telephone Pole Fire in Downtown Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara City Firefighters responded to a report of a telephone pole on fire early Tuesday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m. crews arrived at the corner of Anacapa and Sola Streets and found the top of a power pole on fire.
SoCal Edison shut off the power and crews were able to safely extinguish the fire and secure the scene.
No further information is available at this time.

HALIBUT – not so fast…. I’ve seen a few homeless climbing enthusiasts. It’s entirely plausible that one scaled the pole and then, once summited, decided to warm up a lunch or boil some heroin, before descending.
