Swift Water Rescue Near Los Alamos

By the edhat staff

Two people were rescued from a flooded roadway near Los Alamos on Saturday evening.

At 10:44 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and a water rescue team responded to the 1300 block of Highway 135 between Los Alamos and Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Crews discovered one male and one female who had become trapped in their SUV as it was stuck on the flooded roadway.

The County Fire Department reports Highway 135 is closed between Bell Street and Harris Grade, but the victoms drove past the road closed signs and became stranded.

There were no injuries.

Motorists are reminded not to drive through flooded roadways and to follow all emergency signs and warnings.
