Yesterday, Sheriff’s detectives served two search warrants that resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of dangerous drugs and firearms. Narcotics detectives served a search warrant in the 800-block of Cieneguitas Road at around 8:30 a.m. which resulted in the arrests of 25-year-old Mousa Altayyeb and 28-year-old Yousef Altayyeb of Santa Barbara. Detectives served a second search warrant in the 4200-block of Pozzo Circle in Santa Barbara at around 10:07 a.m. related to the same investigation.
As a result of these warrants, detectives seized 334 grams of methamphetamine, 4 grams of cocaine, 84 grams of fentanyl “M30” pills, sales related packaging and indicia related to narcotics sales, a Ruger .38 Special revolver, a Sig Sauer P250 handgun, a Mossberg Maverick 12-gauge shotgun, a Smith and Wesson M&P15 rifle, four-30 round rifle magazines, and $22,111 in cash.
Mousa Altayyeb was booked at the Main Jail for possession of a controlled substance (felony), possession of a controlled substance for sales (felony), possession of a controlled substance for sales while armed with a loaded firearm (felony), conspiracy (felony), and possession of narcotics (misdemeanor). He was released without bail in compliance with Emergency Rule 4.
Yousef Altayyeb was booked at the Main Jail for possession of a controlled substance (felony), possession of a controlled substance for sales (felony), possession of a controlled substance for sales while armed with a loaded firearm (felony), conspiracy (felony), possession of narcotics (misdemeanor) and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (misdemeanor). He was released without bail in compliance with Emergency Rule 4.
The counterfeit “M30” pills that were seized in this operation are fentanyl made to look like prescription oxycodone. Counterfeit “M30” pills are a dangerous part of the opioid epidemic and are responsible for numerous overdoses and deaths nationwide. How did they get released without bail? I have heard of people charged with very small matters that are sitting in jail for months because they don’t have the cash for bail. Is there some kind of organization that helps people who can’t afford bail?
yeah.. given their age, etc. they probably feel like this ups their street cred. but all these guns, drugs, cash, etc. when i was in my 20s i knew guys with the same stuff you see in that picture and they were literal ‘wanna-be’ badasses. soft kids. the guns are for show and because they dont know what else to do with their ill-gotten cash. probably no laundering connections. not big players in the grand scheme of things. just naive idiots whose ability to obtain drugs made them more popular than they otherwise would have been in social circles. nonetheless they have been charged with felonies and these guys are in for a rude awakening.
Emergency Rule 4 – part of the same “covid” package that lets tenants not pay rent and prevenst all evictions for non-payment of rent. That is officially sanctioned robbery too – on paper you owe it; but in practical terms you get to walk out with no bail. Yes, the decision makers have gone mad. We elected them. This is what they did to us.
BENE – due to Covid, many people are being arrested and released without bail to avoid overcrowding the jail and causing surges in cases.

Catch and release. Anyone who says this is fair, for fentanyl and methamphetamine pushers, has a death wish for our society.
These guys SUCK!! They have been drug dealers in town for years. Their Dad or uncle owns the gas station in Summerland where they have both worked and used it as a place to “befriend” and get many a young kid into their scene. Even dealing for them.
The thing that bothers me the most is their pushing fentanyl. This is effectively murder. And they walk.
Thank Governor Newsom, the ACLU, and the dems running CA for leading the charge on “released without bail.” Criminals get to go free, while small businesses face the wrath of the government shutdown rules. These are the leaders we have elected.
….are in for a rude awakening… Yes we are when we decide to enforce the Rule of Law. Until then it is the wild west again, wonder if this is bait, to inspire vigilantes to take justice seriously. Crimes involving firearms should not be subject to the no bail requirements. Why did was that requirement put in place? Seems foolish.
And people want to defund the police?
10% of crimes involve violence and need an armed sworn officer response. The other 90% of complaints could be handled by a combination of community service officers and mental health professionals, thus saving the taxpayers a boatload of money. Police unions will hate this but we should do what is best for society.
The worst part about this story is that the Narcotics detectives busted down the door of the wrong part of the house. Those boys live in an attached duplex to a main house. The Sheriff’s busted down the door, guns drawn, to the front house where an innocent 12 year old resides and she was with her babysitter. They put the 12 year old in cuffs and would not even allow her to put her pants on. They detained the babysitter as well. After everything was said and done, they did not even apologize for their actions. Absolutely unacceptable to traumatize a child in such a way. And the landlord of the house, is not evicting the criminals, she is evicting the Mother and daughter who live in the front house. Really??
