Suspected Meth Dealer Arrested

On December 18, 2018, members of the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau (SIB), with the assistance of personnel from Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Sheriff’s K9 unit conducted a search warrant in the 700 block of west Harding Ave. in Santa Maria. Detectives found and seized more than one kilo of suspected methamphetamine packaged in quarter pound bundles and other items of drug indicia consistent with drug trafficking from the target residence. Detectives also located and seized a previously reported stolen handgun and a stolen vehicle at the residence. 

Detectives arrested 38-year-old Julio Cesar Aguilar-Lopez of Santa Maria for possessing methamphetamine for the purpose of sales, possessing a stolen firearm, and for possessing a stolen vehicle. Aguilar-Lopez was subsequently booked into Santa Barbara County Jail and is being held on $300,000 bail.
