A female driver in what was initially believed to be a Mazda Miata, but turned out to be some kind of similar looking Honda vehicle or other two seater roadster, was seen swerving and not finesing turns very well. There were reportedly other perceived violations such as dangerous manuvering and close calls actively witnessed by a reporting party.
Another driver reported seeing a female driving a vehicle that struck sidewalk curbs on the Eastside of Santa Barbara. The vehicle was then seen traveling towards Salinas Street and toward the Coast Village Road area in Montecito.
The vehicle then went around the roundabout at Cabrillo and Coast Village road and proceeded in the wrong direction, somehow ending up in the parking lot of Vons in Montecito. A gray Honda SUV was backing out of a stall and dented the quarter panel of the left side, next to the wheel-well of the fleeing roadster as it passed by. Instead of remaining on the scene, the driver fled toward their original direction.
The driver was then soon pulled over on Coast Village Highway next to the golf course and very quickly assessed for DUI, then taken in to custody. The vehicle had a dent from the parking lot incident, which was ironically not their fault. Except they “hit-and-ran” which complicated the situation and made them the responsible party.
Initially, no other parties were reportedly involved or injured. Hope all are well and that it is in fact the truth that no one else was involved or injured.

Honda S2000
Def not a S2000.
This is why auto insurance rates are climbing. Be sitting down when you get your next auto insurance renewal premium invoice. Between DUI’s, texting, pling with their monitors and reckless drivers, the cost of auto insurance will continue to go up year after year.
Until it’s all self driving – then it should go down – right?
Mazda MX-5 Miata
So….. where did the car park when the driver got loaded?
She needs a designated driver.
