Public Assistance Requested to Identify Suspect
On Friday 1/12/18 at approximately 6:00 p.m. the male suspect in the provided surveillance video entered the Living Faith Church in the 4500 block of Hollister Ave. While staff was busy teaching the membership of the Santa Barbara Youth Music Academy, the suspect entered one of the music equipment rooms, stole a guitar and fled the property.
Sheriff’s deputies investigated the theft and found that the guitar was a generous donation to the Music Academy by a life-long and local musician who was a firm supporter of the students and children who attend the Santa Barbara Youth Music Academy. Staff was also alarmed due to the brazen theft during normal business hours with students on site.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance in identifying this suspect. Please review the footage and contact us if you have any information at (805)692-5744. To leave an anonymous tip, please call 681-4171.
Close-up view? You want the thief to post his selfie?
Try to use your noggin; you’re seeing what the camera captured; there’s nothing else to see. The camera captures continuously; there are no “juncture points” — the camera doesn’t know when a crime is being committed.
Put a big sign above the door that says hey you..the lords not the only one watching, your on camera!
When will people realize that wide views with security cams MUST be accompanied by close-up views, or replaced by close-up views only? Without a close-up view at junction points all you capture is a crime, not the perpetrator.
