Santa Barbara Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a vehicle through city streets early Thursday morning.

An edhat reader reports a heavy police presence in Montecito stationed at Miramar on Eucalyptus Lane around 1:00 a.m. Police cruisers were then seen heading south on Coast Village Road and then back through to the north.

It’s unsure when and where the pursuit began but KEYT News captured video of the chase after 12:30 a.m. as it went through Santa Barbara’s eastside neighborhoods.

The vehicle was stopped in the 900 block of Barcelona Drive off Veronica Springs Road. A female driver in her 30’s was arrested at the scene.

  1. Yes, a woman. How is that “something different?” Women are just as capable of engaging in criminal high speed chases as a man! Don’t be so sexist! It was International Women’s Day yesterday in case you weren’t aware. Jeez!
