A surfer who was unable to get back to shore was rescued by Santa Barbara County Fire Department’s Rescue team  off  the Isla Vista coastline Friday morning.

At 7:51 a.m., a water rescue team launched jet skis from Goleta Beach and made their way to a surfer in distress off the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive. The surfer, a female in her early 20’s, was found in distress.

The rescue team safely guided her back to Campus Point where she was warmed up and released without injuries, said Captain Dave Zaniboni.
