A surfer caught against the bluffs of Isla Vista required rescuing Friday morning.
At 7:31 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the area. Ocean rescuers used a rope system to access the surfer caught in the waves against the bluff.
They lowered themselves to the surfer and were able to bring them topside without injuries.
The surfer was evaluated by paramedics on the scene and released.
