I was Sunday this weekend and noticed tons of people wearing LA Rams jerseys. I then saw a big setup at Paseo Nuevo. Apparently, the Vince Lombardi Trophy is doing some kind of tour where fans can take photos. There was a line down the block waiting for it to open.
Big wow
We are a nation of simpletons being led by the nose. We are facing a crisis of our democracy and more people want to spend time looking at trinkets of commercial exploitation than consider the state of our nation. It is truly sad.
Wow…. Debby Downer much? So, RHS, in your view, we should just stay at home and contemplate and wring our hands over the state of the nation? Anyone who dares to try to enjoy a little distraction from the stresses of life is a “simpleton?” I mean come on, lighten up a little?
RHS- “We are a nation of simpletons being led by the nose.” 100%!
“We are facing a crisis of our democracy” 100%!
“It is truly sad.” 100%!
“and more people want to spend time looking at trinkets of commercial exploitation than consider the state of our nation.”
Dang it! You almost got an A+! First, welcome to the modern world… Second, the staggering wealth that professional sports have created for African Americans should be applauded! I mean 157 years ago on Juneteenth, there would be zero African Americans having this opportunity. Most give back to their communities and bring others up to help them
succeed. Third, what Sac said…
Getting a picture with a trophy you didn’t win is hysterical to me.
Yeah! Similar to taking a photo with a celebrity or sports star who you admire, but don’t know at all….or….picture standing on the Golden Gate Bridge that you didn’t build….or or or or (“seal” sounds if you say or or or or very quick).
Yet here you are commenting, not once but twice about how you don’t care. Getahobby.
Sacjon, the point of the RHS criticism/observation is that there is no inherent value in the display of the symbol business success that would draw people just to “see” it. Do you want to see the bottom line profits spread sheet on the Exxon-Mobil annual report and would you line up to do so? Condoning such foolery is not unlike what was said about religion being the opiate of the masses.
Aww Babycakes, it’s okay to let people live their lives and enjoy themselves as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. Namaste.
That’s really cool. Wish it was not covered.
