Sunset Smoke

Flying past Point Mugu, Monday’s sunset colors were twisted by the smoke from Hill, Woolsey and other fires in the area. The seas were whipped toward the islands by a strong surface wind. Beyond the Boney Mountains, thin blue smoke blew down the valleys in a sunset tinted fog.

Out beyond Hidden Valley and Lake Sherwood one plume struggled up against the valiant firefighting efforts. Beyond Fillmore heavy smoke was also sneaking over distant mountains into the L.A. Basin from fires to the North.
