  1. Agree. This dude looks completely clueless. Hashtag helicopter bailout at taxpayers’ expense, and earning the Darwin Award for stupidity. Sorry (not) if I offended any of the ultra PC types.

    • tMo, They might just as well go out on these rescues. That’s what they’re pid for isn’t it? If they weren’t flying these rescues the crews would just be sitting around drinking coffee and playing video games while still on the clock. 🙂

    • tMo – do you also hope people who call the police and it turns out to be not a crime get the bill? How about people who think they’re having a heart attach, but it’s only a panic attack. Send them the bill for the EMT’s they call?

Just charge people who think they’re having a crisis for the emergency response we all pay for or is voluntary, such as S&R?

Dang, you better be dead certain you’re having a real crisis before even thinking of calling for help.

      • Poor attempt at analogies Sac – this is a completely avoidable situation, nothing like crimes or health issues whatsoever. This is another example of someone doing stupid stuff and then asking for a bailout. Completely different from the examples you threw out. Encouraging/supporting irresponsibility is pretty lame. Hopefully this guy learned something, but hey maybe not – there’s always a helicopter to bail you out? He should be embarrassed and have learned a life lesson. That would be the appropriate reaction for an adult.

        • Yeah you totally missed the point, Doc. It’s not just about this particular resuce, it’s about ALL the rescues that you and others lose your minds about. You shame everyone, not just this guy.

          Own it.
