Stabbing on State Street During Altercation

By the edhat staff

Santa Barbara Police are investigating a fight on State Street Saturday evening with two injuries including one stabbing.

Officers arrived in the 500 block of State Street around 9:50 p.m. Saturday for a reported physical altercation involving several people. Police say it began inside a business and ended on the street, currently part of the State Street Promenade.

Two men were injured and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ground ambulance. One man sustained stab wounds to the abdomen and the other sustained facial injuries. Both men are expected to survive.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is continuing their investigation into the incident but believe this was not gang related and the men did not know each other. One of the men is from outside the area.

No arrests have been announced as of Monday.

  1. Wait, I thought multi-person fights were ONLY, ALWAYS gang related? Isn’t that what someone said about the last large fight?
Drunken homeless fight this weekend plus this drunken bar brawl. Seems to me we have an alcohol problem in SB.

  2. They must have been white for them to say it’s not gang related! This town is so racist and one sided! It’s disgusting. If white men fight it’s not gang related but if any other race does it’s gang related. We do have a serious problem in this town with violence and the police and politicians need to recognize.
