  1. Sprouts is pricey? Hmmm. They have great prices. Their produce is fresh and inexpensive and they offer a good selection of wholesome foods. Their bulk prices are fantastic too, if you’re into that sorta stuff. However, they do not sell national packaged food brands , you know the ones that fill the center aisles at the giant box markets and dominate advertising. The brands that are full of sugar, corn syrup, preservatives, processed junk and masquerade as food with words like “Natural” . So if that’s your measure, I guess you’re right. You’re outta luck at Sprouts. As for me, they are a great addition to my rounds and I’d be happy to have them in town.

  2. You must not have noticed all the so called affordable supermarkets that got bought up by larger chains now are straddled with tons of debt incurred from the sale. And with increased debt comes increased prices. As with most acquisitions it’s not the purchaser that takes on the debt but the purchasee. Ask Mitt Romney if you don’t believe me… it’s venture capitalism at its finest.

  3. Bristol Farms is not a store…it’s an event. I used to shop in the South Pasadena store. They have “pop-up” shops inside the stores. It is crazy! For me, going to Bristol Farms is like going to a party. The only drawback is that you have to pay more for most foods. I look at it this way, it’s in my food budget AND my entertainment budget.

  4. If anyone wants me to go to another store Fine buy me a new car and support my ass because you will be employing me to go somewhere else.Until then I don’t live your life, you don’t live mine Take a Hike…Fair wages? I never made much money ..Where were some of you when I was making 150.00 a week and paying 125.00 a week for a room…

  5. Sprouts and Whole Foods in particular are making their fortunes on the backs of employees. Please patronize stores that pay fair wages with fair working conditions. Also stores that do not mis-weigh food to the store’s advantage and do not dispose of toxic materials in a dangerous or illegal way. Not glamorous but I can do fine at Vons and Gelsons.
