We lived across the street from LCJH for several years, and every morning there were motorists who would speed past school busses that were stopped in lights on to pick up children. Modoc becomes a speedway during the morning commute, and it’s a miracle that there hasn’t been a tragedy. Glad to see that the SBPD is stepping up their presence to protect the kids.
*with lights on
That would be La Cumbre Jr. High School.
Yes, La Cumbre Junior High School. And, more to the point certainly not a speed trap!
It’s good to see the police actually doing something for a change. Every school zone is full of angry, aggressive and dangerous drivers. I wish my own kid’s school had more patrols, but San Roque is basically unpoliced at this time.
SMURFO – What do you mean when you say San Roque is “unpoliced at this time?”
Wow, lots of bad facts in this original post! There SHOULD be more police and bad driver enforcement near our schools during pick up and drop off time. People need to drive safer, especially around where kids are crossing the street.
What I came here to say has been said, but since I’m here:
Be careful of speed trap?! How about follow the traffic laws and speed limits?! Sheesh…
Be careful of the “speed trap”? How about be careful when you are driving in a school zone!
25mph

Not a trap…….just enforcing the law.
Glad to read about it. I wish they enforced all the laws, citywide.
Law enforcement doing just that…enforcing the law.
ya know…they are there for a good reason and reporting their location is not cool. they are there in a specific area where there have been reports of people driving in excessive speeds. that is why he is there. so now you just tipped off every bad driver to avoid that area and do their terrible driving habits elsewhere….lame
Reporting the location means people will slow down there…which was the whole idea, right? As long as people slow down does it matter if the city gets revenue out of it?
