Here are some South Coast construction updates from our Sunday afternoon flight. The new “open space” going in South of Oprah’s estate has progressed from bare to planted. In contrast, the “cliff dwellers” below QAD in Summerland have been making improvements apparently including propane. It’s easier to see the final product of Carp’s 101 update as the new bridges take shape. The Miramar has begun sprouting structures on the foundations, and some deep earthwork at top-right is shaping the creek. The crane that’s been working at the SB Museum of Art has built steel frame for a roof. SBCC’s rakish new building at the theater continues getting garnishes. There’s plenty of other construction in our area, as others discover the many attractions here.
