In case you missed it this past weekend, Caltrans documented some light snowfall on Sheffield Road near Highway 101.
The recent storm brought a variety of flooding, debris flows, rain with thunder and lightning, and even snow.
Caltrans posted these photos on Saturday (March 30, 2024) of snow turning into sludge on the Highway 101 Sheffield Road Over-Crossing.
Snow? Graupel?
I guess one has to see the particles and analyze the weather conditions to tell?
Hail, anyone???
It snowed in Santa Barbara 1973.
Don’t remember that, nor does it show up in the weather history for 1973:

1949, yes.
It did snow on us in Goleta in 1973. It was quick and didn’t stick long. Still happened though.
San Marcos High had a snowman in front of the school.
There is a great pic of it out there.
I think it was 1962?
The internet doesn’t know everything.
Sounds like you’re not sure about muc=h of anything.
