Santa Barbara County firefighters are battling another brush fire, this one is located west of Santa Maria.
The fire sparked sometime late Saturday afternoon in a field near the Arellanes School. Crews on the scene estimated it to be 1/4 of an acre and mostly wind-driven.
With the assistance of the Santa Maria Fire Department, the fire’s forward progress was stopped within the hour.
The cause is under investigation.
