Small Brush Fire on Gibraltar Road

Santa Barbara County and City firefighters are assisting the Los Padres National Forest in battling a brush fire near 3040 Gibraltar Road.

The Los Padres National Forest reports there are light winds and the fire is at 1/4 acre with a slow rate of spread near the construction site of a home.

The initial call time of the incident was 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday.

A possible vegetation fire in the 3000 Block of Gibraltar, light smoke reported from the station.

  1. Reason for fire extinguisher, put out fire by roadside when it’s small. Saves firefighters lives by them not having to deal with major wildfires (that started by a small roadside fire). Fire, felled trees, smoke – all enemies of firefighters. We can do our small part by carrying fire extinguishers in our cars. If you’re not confident you can use it, hand it to someone nearby who can use it. Make a difference.
